Juntos Board Members
David Bennion – Is on the Program Committee of the Board and is an expert immigration lawyer who works very closely with Dream Activists PA. He is also on the board of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition.
Emiliano Rodriguez – Is the Board President and is an organizer for the union Unite Here! He is originally from El Paso, TX, is Chicano, and has been doing work on labor issues and immigration reform for over 10 years.
Juan Carlos Romero – Is on the Fundraising Committee of the Board, and owner of Los Taquitos de Puebla, a well-known local restaurant. He is originally from Puebla, Mexico and has been working on business development for most of his time here in the US.
Amada Armenta – is the Secretary of the Board and is a professor at the University of Penn’s Sociology Program. Her family is 3rd generation Mexican and her work is focused on the intersections of police and immigration. She joined the board in 2014.
Erika Guadalupe-Nuñes – A longtime artist and community organizer. She received a grant in 2012 to work with Fleisher Art Memorial on a biannual art exhibition and fundraiser, curating over 600 works while developing and distributing all related promotional materials. She has also spent the last four years working as a community organizer for several grassroots organizations devoted to issues of discrimination in immigration policies.
Denisse Agurto – is a community leader in the Norristown committee and has been involved with Juntos as a leader since our first campaign there to stop racial profiling at license checkpoints. She is a case manager when not organizing. Her family is from Peru and she has been in the US for over 10 years. She joined the board in 2014.
